When you are constipated, your body recycles everything it can. Bile is a precious commodity, so that toxic bile gets circulated back to the liver to be re-used, and congests the liver in the process. Fluids are extracted from the waste and processed through the kidneys, putting strain on the kidneys to filter all that wastewater. I have a 14 year old (not overweight) that is not eating right, a lot of sugar, carbs, sodas and has shown low thyroid in blood tests along some liver problems. She is ADHD, but constantly complains from lack of energy, reflux and constantly hungry! Her cholesterol is high as so are her tryglycerios. Fibre recommendations are between 20 to 35 grams a day, but the modern affluent diet provides only about 10 g. I get colonics every six months. I usually do them in three sessions increments. I love them. I have heard over doing them van be bad as they do flush out good bacteria but I think doing them as part of a spring cleaning and cleanse is very beneficial. I would highly recommend them.
