There are amazing benefits to being regular. You’ll fight off common illnesses, have a lot more energy, and best of all, boost your metabolism to burn fat and shed more pounds. Your vitamin, mineral and nutrient absorption will skyrocket and you’ll feel the difference – you won’t feel run down all the time. Your moods will be better and your memory sharper. Isn’t it time to purge all that old waste from your body and get started feeling better and burning fat?
Sorry, but this is too one-sided. And this article is simply someone trying to sell something. I have had IBS-D for most of my life. What that means is Irritable Bowel Syndrome with diarrhea. For me, being somewhat constipated is a blessing! To not have to take medication every time I leave the house so that I won’t be running to the bathroom every five minutes is a blessing. When I hear “colon cleanse” all I hear is I will be locked in my bathroom for a day…at least. No thanks. I take a very good probiotic – recommended by a functional medicine practitioner. It is a capsule. 50 billion CFUs. I finally have normal bowel movements. Hey, it may not be normal to the author of this article, but I’m not having diarrhea every day. For which I am truly thankful!
A diet high in refined carbohydrates and low in fibre reduces the number of friendly bacteria in the intestines, upsetting the balance of the body’s intestinal ecosystem. Yogurt, kefir and other fermented foods such as miso and sauerkraut can replenish friendly bacteria. Bifidobacteria are most numerous in the colon, while Lactobacilli prevail in the small intestine. These beneficial bacteria synthesize vitamins from food remnants, degrade toxins, prevent colonization of disease-causing micro- organisms, crowd out less beneficial bacteria, stimulate the immune system and produce short-chain fatty acids that provide an energy source for cells lining the colon.

Would I recommend colon hydrotherapy? Absolutely. I think that it is a worthwhile endeavour. It’s virtually painless and it’s a therapeutic experience for your body & spirit. I do expect that I will make a habit of having a session every few years. Of course, my one big recommendation is to keep probiotics on-hand and enjoy a nice big bowl of yogurt after your session.
hi, i was wondering if you can help me. I have been constipated/diarrhea for years now and cant get rid of it. i had my stools checked and a colonscopy done but the doctors tell me that it comes back normal, on the side the doctor found out i have anemia, vitamin d definecy, protein in my urine and i have noticed eye floaters. I'm not sure whats wrong with me but i feel so sick im not sure what to do, can you please help me? they gave me antibiotics for the protein in my urine but for some reason it didnt work on me, they told me they didnt undertand why i had protein in my urine i think its cause of my colon cause ever since i had digestive issues afew years later i ended up getting the proetin in my urine. im not absorbing my nutrients. I;m actually doing a detox cleanse right now, the blessed herbs one but i dont feel any different yet. i'm on my third day of fasting.
For decades health practitioners have been recommending gut cleanses to enhance their patient’s health and wellbeing. But this clinical concept has been given a bad rap from cleanses that promise a quick fix but don’t give the body the nutrients they need. My opinion as a qualified, practising nutritionist is that, when done right, a gut cleanse is an essential step towards optimal gut health.

Also, I suffer from a inherited condition that is called Peutz Jeghers syndrome which caused polyps to grow and they were removed by surgery about 30 years ago. I think it caused intestinal adhesion because it can take a long time to see watery stool after taking epsom salts when i did a liver flush (Moritz, haven’t done yours or any others yet as it did go well with this Moritz flush) I had to take pretty much of the epsom salts and that made me feel ill.
To be sure, I've also read numerous emails from doctors who write into the Baseline of Health Foundation and say, "I've been doing colonoscopies for years, and I've never seen this mythical fecal matter." But think about this for a moment. What is every patient required to do the night before they get their colonoscopy? They are forced to drink a literal gallon of purgative to blow every last trace of fecal matter out of their colons. So doctors do not see large amounts of fecal matter, they see only the damage that fecal matter has left behind -- prolapsed colons, polyps, and diverticular disease for starters.

There has been a great misconception among the public and most medical professionals about how often a normal healthy person should move their bowels. For years, doctors have thought that anywhere between one bowel movement a day and one a week was normal. (Unfortunately, that's probably the norm for the doctors who think that.) However, what we have learned in the holistic community is that it is normal, and necessary, to have one bowel movement a day for each major meal (as opposed to a snack) you ate the day before. If you eat three major meals, you should have three bowel movements the next day. If you don't, you're not alone.

Next, you need to make sure that you are properly hydrated. You have probably seen the various studies that have shown how important it is for us to get enough water on a regular basis, and this is even truer if you want to have the best colon cleanse. Drink several glasses of water every day that has been carefully filtered, as this will help to flush out the toxins that are already clinging within your system.
Most importantly however, a colon cleanse can kick-start your weight loss. As foods that lack fiber move through your digestive system much slower than those with high fiber content do, it can produce excess mucous that sticks to the insides of your intestinal walls, weighing down the tract with pounds of decaying matter. Sounds horrible right? Well the best colon cleanse helps to get rid of all that and colon cleansers can help people to lose anywhere up to twenty pounds throughout the course of a month. Remember that the average human colon can hold anywhere up to eight meals before digestion starts to kick in.

These “Frankenfoods” are loaded with artificial ingredients that have names you can’t even pronounce. And they’re missing one key ingredient – fiber. So they sit in your gut for days or even weeks, fermenting and rotting instead of digesting and providing nutrients. Constipation, inflammation, nutrient deficiencies, bloating and weight gain are just some of the results.
